People have performed well in the face of numerous disasters over the past year. We were glued to television coverage of the damage from a tsunami, hurricanes, and earthquakes.
And we gave.
We agonized over war, and we also followed the suicide bombings in the Middle East and even London.
These stories all but obscured the millions of lives that are being threatened by disease, hunger, and tyranny on the African continent.
When you are tired of hearing about such trouble (maybe you’re tired of reading this post today) you can renew your strength by giving the burden to the Lord. Feeling overwhelmed is no reason to give up, unless you are giving it up to the Lord.
Where your money fails, prayer does not.
And be reminded that in due season, the Lord will reward you for your generosity. “If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD–and he will repay you!” (Proverbs 19:17)
