There is a life of enthusiastic service. Those who live this way are always expectant.
Their performance does not ebb and flow with the favorabilty of circumstances. They are sustained and driven by something greater.
“In that day of battle, your people will serve you willingly. Arrayed in holy garments, your vigor will be renewed each day like the morning dew.” (Psalm 110:3)
The executive session of Jesus, once brutalized and crucified but now exalted, seated in the highest place, affords His believers the sense for unlimited possibility.
No matter what, they go forward, understanding that the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him far above every nameable name is at work in their own lives—this very hour.
Still they need frequent reminders of this power; they need to meet at the Lord’s Table, they need intimate prayer and Scripture study.
And they need to hear the preaching of this triumph.
